    Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan, gas mark 4).

    Put the halved strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle over half of the sugar.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 450g Strawberries fresh, halved
    • 50g Unrefined golden caster sugar

    In a larger bowl whisk together the remaining sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until soft and creamy.

    • 50g Unrefined golden caster sugar
    • 2 Egg(s) (free range) medium
    • ½tsp Vanilla extract

    Melt the butter in a pan until it is soft brown in colour.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 25g Butter (unsalted)

    Add the flour to the egg and sugar mix and whisk again until creamy.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 25g Plain white flour

    Slowly add the cream and milk and finally the melted butter and pinch of salt. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 75g Double cream whipped
    • 50ml Milk (whole)
    • pinch Salt

    Pour the batter into a dish that has been well greased with butter. Sprinkle over some flaked almonds.

    For this step you'll need:

    • 25g Almonds (flaked)

    Place the halved strawberries cut side down into the batter and bake in the oven for approx 30-45 minutes or until the batter is cooked in the middle.
