- 100 g Butter (unsalted)
- 275 g Unrefined golden caster sugar
- 1 Egg(s) (free range) beaten
- 350 g Self-raising wholemeal flour
- ½ tsp Baking powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- 75 ml Buttermilk
- Banana(s) sliced to decorate

Grease and line a deep 20 x 10cm loaf tin.

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add the egg a little at a time.
For this step you'll need:
- 100g Butter (unsalted)
- 275g Unrefined golden caster sugar
- 1 Egg(s) (free range) beaten

Sift together the dried ingredients then using a hand mixer, mix into the creamed mixture, adding bananas and buttermilk.
For this step you'll need:
- 350g Self-raising wholemeal flour
- ½tsp Baking powder
- ½tsp Salt
- 2 Banana(s) sliced to decorate
- 75ml Buttermilk

Place into the tin and bake at 180°C (160°C, gas mark 4) for 40-45 minutes until firm to the touch. Cool and decorate with sliced bananas.
