For the biscuits
- 200 g Butter (unsalted)
- 200 g Unrefined golden caster sugar
- 1 Egg(s) (free range) whole
- 400 g Plain white flour

Line two baking sheets with baking parchment paper.

Cream together the butter and sugar, preferably with an electric whisk, until light and creamy. Add the egg and stir until well combined
For this step you'll need:

Add the flour and mix at a low speed until a dough is formed. Gather the dough and wrap in cling film. Chill for 20 minutes.

- 400g Plain white flour

Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C, gas mark 4). Roll the dough onto a lightly floured surface and cut out using templates or cookie cutters. Chill for a further 10 minutes.

Bake for 8-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Leave to cool and decorate as desired.
