- 1 tsp Mace
- 2 Cinnamon stick(s)
- 300 g Currants
- 200 g Mixed peel
- 2 tbsp Orange juice freshly squeezed
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 1 Orange zest
- 1 Lemon zest
- 750 g Unrefined light muscovado sugar
- 2 tsp Mixed spice
- 1l Vodka

Warm the spices in a dry pan over a low heat for 10 minutes – keep them moving so that they do not catch
For this step you'll need:
- 1tsp Mace
- 2 Cinnamon stick(s)
- 2tsp Mixed spice

Combine all of the remaining ingredients except for the vodka in a large bowl. Mix well and add the warmed spices.
For this step you'll need:
- 300g Currants
- 200g Mixed peel
- 2 tbsp Orange juice freshly squeezed
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 1 Orange zest
- 1 Lemon zest
- 750g Unrefined light muscovado sugar

Pour over the vodka. Stir until all is well combined. Cover and refrigerate for 3 – 4 days, stirring daily.

When ready to bottle the vodka, line a sieve with muslin or a clean j –cloth. Set this over a clean bowl and pour in the vodka and fruits. Reserve the soaked fruits for other uses (such as boozy mince pies).

Decant into clean bottles and seal. Store for up to one year. Can be served from the freezer or at room temperature. To give as a frozen gift – freeze for at least 24 hours, and then label and decorate. Use a bottle gift bag to present.
